Vitor Santos

Assistant Professor at NOVA IMS – Nova Information Management School at the New University of Lisbon, teaching “Artificial Intelligence”, “Data Science” and “Information Systems”. Before that, he was a guest lecturer at the University of Trás os Montes and Alto Douro (UTAD) and the University of Minho (UM).
He has served on several scientific committees of national and international conferences, editorial boards and is the author of several academic publications.
He was the Microsoft Portugal Academic Computer Science Program Manager for, almost, a decade. Prior to that, he held management positions in Santander companies and developed Computer Engineering activities for around 15 years. He was an elected member of the Order of Engineers (3 terms) and of the APDSI Board.
Vitor Santos has a PhD from the University of Minho in Information Systems and Technologies, a degree in Computer Engineering from Cocite, a post-graduate degree in Computer Science from the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon, a master’s degree in Information Systems from the University of Minho, a DEA (Diploma Universitário do Minho and holds the title of Computer Specialist from the Polytechnic Institutes of Guarda, Castelo Branco and Viseu.
He is currently studying for a second PhD in Culture and Communication at Lisbon University.
